Las Lomas finishes the 2018 season 12 - 1!

​

The Knights completed a stellar 2018 season with a tough NCS Semifinal loss to the Eureka Loggers in a mud bowl that neutralized Las Lomas' team speed and agility.  The loss did little to dampen what was a dominant season on both sides of the ball, as the Offense scored a record 586 points, while the Defense surrendered only 74 points all season! 

Being an outstanding team that had an outstanding season with top-tier coaching resulted in a slew of individual awards as well.  Six players were awarded First Team All League Honors: Dylan Graham, Blake Thorpe, Jake Ward, Zac Transue, Caden Royere, Jalen Apalit-Williams.  Seven more players were awarded Second Team All League Honors: Zach Patterson, Jake Ward, Mason Reese, Connor Cook, Nate Schulte, Dominic Gravino, Kaden Watters-Germia. The League's top Honors, Most Valuable Offensive Player went to Isaiah Newell, and the League's Most Valuable Defensive Player was awarded to Amjad Qoubaitary.

The 2018 team was special, as was its Coach Doug Longero, who continues to build competitive teams and even better young men...​Great season Knights!

10/19/2018 The Knights go 10 - 0!

The Knights finished a magnificent regular season by beating the Benicia Panthers on the road to claim the 2018 DAL Valley League Championship and a perfect 10-0 season! The Knights were excellent in every faucet of the game with Isaiah Newell accounting for over 250 yards and three of the Knights five touchdowns, the other two coming on great passes from Dylan Graham to Blake Thorpe and Jalen Apalit-Williams.  The Knights defense was again lights-out in posting their sixth shutout of the season.  The Knights were dominant on all three levels of D, forcing four turnovers, numerous sacks, and making great tackles all over the field. The game against the Panthers, who were previously undefeated in league play, affirmed Las Lomas' place as one of the top Division III teams in Northern California!  Great game Knights, outstanding regular season, and the best of luck entering the NCS Playoffs, which will begin the weekend of November 2!

9/14/2018 Las Lomas D comes up big in win over Red Devils!

The defense came up huge in the Knights 81-0 win over the Mt. Diablo Red Devils, scoring 5 touchdowns and notching its second consecutive shutout.  The offense also continued its dominance as the Knights moved to 5-0 on the season.

9/14/2018 Frosh/Soph wins Win! 

Strong performances on both sides of the ball led to a 49-20 win for the Knights, their second straight that improved their record to 2-2-1.

9/7/2018 Knights Dominate in Battle of the Creek!

The Varsity boys steamrolled the Broncos, jumping out to a 37-0 first quarter lead and never looking back in a 63-0 thumping in the 2018 Battle of the Creek.  The offense was unstoppable, led by a ground attack that scored six touchdowns, two each by Isaiah Newell and Nick Kane, with Matt Schuler and Jake McGoff adding scores.  The passing game was equally dominant led by Dylan Graham's three touchdown passes, two long strikes to Zach Patterson and a spectacular catch by Jayden Duffy on a perfect throw from Graham.  The defense continues to be phenomenal with fierce play from the defensive line and linebackers that caused numerous fumbles, and great ball-hawking by the secondary resulting in 4 interceptions (Waters, Royere, Schuler, Newell).

Prep2Prep game recap:

Like the EBAL, I would have to imagine that the coaches in the DAL would move Las Lomas up to the Foothill Division, especially after the Knights routed Northgate, 63-0, in the Battle of the Creek. Northgate is young and resides in the upper tier, while Las Lomas is thriving once again under coach Doug Longero and could realistically be headed for an unbeaten regular season, with wins over three teams from the upper division in its own league.

9/7/2018 Frosh/Soph Earns First Win! 

Lead by Troy De La Vega on both sides of the ball, the Frosh/Soph team got its first win of the season with a 23-7 win over the Northgate Broncos!

8/24/2018 Varsity Knights are 2-0!

The Varsity boys dominated on both sides of the ball Friday night, with all its weapons on full display in 48 - 13 win against the Alhambra Bulldogs.  The offense rolled up over 500 yards, while the defense gave up only 7 points for the second game in a row in a super team effort.  Once again the LL fans showed up in full-force and provided great support!

8/24/2018 Frosh/Soph team falls to 0-2

The Frosh/Soph team battled hard but came up just short falling to the Bulldogs 13-12 on Friday.

8/17/2018 Las Lomas Knights are 1-0!

The Varsity boys showed great fight Friday night, grinding out a 12-7 win at Acalanes with stalwart defense and a relentless offense that scored the winning touchdown with only 3-minutes left in the game!  The LL fans also showed up en masse, offering vocal support as the boys brought home the big week one win...See the Cal-Hi Sports Report here!
